Training

Training

We work to support survivors of Honour Based Violence (HBV), Forced Marriage (FM) and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and pledge to help all victims of abuse, however we can.

We work closely with agencies across the UK and internationally, to help them gain a better understanding of the signs to spot, and the experience of victims. We are endorsed by the Home Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Our aim is to provide training to address the lack of awareness within local authorities and private sector organisations, who are in a position to identify and support potential victims facing honour abuse.

We also offer one-to-one victim support and consultancy.

To ensure the needs of South Asian Communities are met, we provide specialist training to raise awareness of 'hidden abuse' - providing support in a safe, practical and empowering way.

We deliver bespoke training to frontline professionals, to raise awareness and help ensure those who are suffering abuse can break their silence, seek support and get justice.

Already, we have worked with;
  • Police Forces
  • Crown Prosecution Service
  • Universities
  • Local Authorities
  • NHS
  • Legal agencies
  • Communities

We also work with schools, colleges, and universities to ensure that staff and students have the best support.

Children often consider school as a place of safety and are therefore more likely to speak to someone about their concerns. It is vital that staff fully understand issues such as honour based violence, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation, so they can recognise signs of such abuse and protect children from harm.

A victim may have only ONE CHANCE to ask for help. Get in touch today to discuss how our training may help you turn that one chance, into change.

Testimonials

"Sarb has exceptional knowledge of Honour Based Violence (HBV) within ethnic communities. She has been a subject matter expert and resource for Surrey Police so that officers and staff can deliver a better service in response to reports of HBV.

I commend her efforts to improve HBV and ensure that it is recognised and tackled by Government services."

"Sarbjit is a great and brings a lot of passion to her work.

Her particular strengths lie in the fact that her past experiences place her in good stead to effectively campaign against all types of violence against women."

Excellent training and a must for all legal staff.

Sarbjit is very open about her experience, you’re able to put yourself in her place and fully understand the fear she must have felt in her position.

Her experience is one many people can learn from and her book is just one part of some valuable work Sarbjit does - using her experience to support victims."
